Hip to Gable lofts are for properties that have three separate slanting sides on the roof, usually on semi detached and detached houses. The side part of the roof is made vertical which increases the amount of space within the loft.

Mansard lofts require the most work done, as they result in considerable change to the structure of the roof. Mansard’s usually have a flat roof with the back sloped at 72 degrees, which is a loophole to qualify the roof as a wall according to planning criteria.
Velux / Skylight Lofts
Velux lofts are the most versatile type of loft conversions, as they can be built on a wide range of homes, including detached, semi detached and terraced properties. They create more additional floor and head space by extending the roof, and most of the time will end up making your loft the largest room in the house.
